Have an old avalanche airbag gathering dust? Now’s your chance to give it a second life. With the Highmark RePack Program, you can trade in your used Highmark, Mammut, Dakine, or BCA airbag, get credit toward a new pack, and help keep avalanche safety gear out of landfills.

It’s easy. It’s responsible. And it’s good karma.

How It Works

  1. Submit your airbag

    • Fill out our simple online form (link at the bottom) with your pack details and a photo or three.

  2. Get a credit estimate

    • Our team will review your submission and let you know your trade-in credit range ($50–$400).

  3. Ship it to us

    • We’ll provide a prepaid shipping label for Canada.

  4. Receive your credit

    • Once we receive your pack, we’ll finalize the credit and issue a store credit for the  Highmark Airbag website valid for 2 years.

  5. Refurbish and resell

    • Your pack will be carefully inspected, refurbished by a local retailer, and listed for sale — giving it a safe second life on the slopes.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What locations are eligible?

A: The program is open to packs located in Canada. Since our resellers are located in Canada, we can only make this available to those looking to ship their packs from Canada, because OMG have you tried shipping over the border lately?!

 Q: I can sell my pack for more elsewhere. Why should I trade it in?

A: RePack is about making it easy and responsible. Yes, you could sell it on a marketplace, but this program keeps gear out of landfills, supports avalanche safety, and rewards you with credit for your next pack.

 Q: Do I send in the cylinder?

A: If it's empty, SURE. That will increase the store credit that we're able to offer, but it's not necessary. We can't ship full cylinders.

 Q: What happens to my pack after trade-in?

A: Each pack is inspected, refurbished, and then listed for sale by by a local retailer, giving it a second life on the slopes.

 Q: How long is my credit valid?

A: Credits are valid for 2 years on highmarkairbags.ca, giving you time to upgrade when the next pack you want becomes available.

 Q: How do you determine trade-in value?

A: When you submit your photos, we’ll review the pack’s condition and provide a credit estimate in the $50–$400 range. The final credit is issued once we receive the pack and may vary if the pack is significantly better or worse than represented in the pictures.

 Q: Which packs are eligible?

A: We accept Highmark, Mammut, Dakine, or BCA Gen 2 avalanche airbags only. Effectively ONLY compressed air packs with current tech are qualified. As a rule of thumb - if you wouldn't lend this pack to your buddy to use, it won't qualify.
